Family constellations
When you participate in a family constellation, a spatial representation of your family system is created, including the (un)conscious patterns and dynamics. With a family constellation an inner process is activated inside you, which is characterized by a deep (re)cognition, acceptance and letting go to what is no longer serving you. And with that, blockages are removed and a new perspective and space for personal growth arises. You gain more insight into the unconscious patterns and dynamics and the extent to which they play and have played a role in your thinking, beliefs and behavior.
When do I choose a family constellations?
When you get stuck in situations on the same question, theme or problem that is costing you too much attention/energy. With a family constellation, growth in your consciousness arises, which creates new space to better deal with these situations. A new perspective on the world around you arises, in a way you could not see it before.
Your question or theme can be about all kinds of different subjects, ranging from work, relationships, emotions or illness, the origins of which can often be traced back to our family system.
The various forms of family constellations
Roughly speaking, there are three different forms of family constellations.
1. A family constellation in which people are used to represent the family system. These people are also called representatives. See the section below for a more detailed description.

2. In 1-on-1 coaching, floor plates are often used that are placed in the room and serve as representatives for the people from the family system.

3. A third form is where dolls or objects are used and that are placed on a table and are also placed as representatives for the family system.
What is the way of working for a family constellation
This section describes the family constellation in which people are set up as representatives for you and your family system. For this form of family constellations, several people are present with a group size of around 15 people. There are usually more people who bring in a personal question.
There are usually several people who bring in a personal question. For each of those who bring in a question, a family constellation is done for the question brought in. For the constellation, a number of the other participants are put in place as representatives for your family system (e.g. one person for you, one person for your mother and one person for your father and possibly other people). The facilitator asks questions to the representatives and performs interventions during the dynamics that the constellation shows. During the constellation, you will see reality as it is. The facilitator supports you in this during the constellation and follows the direction and space that arises in you and the constellation. The inner process that then awakens in you, as it were, is often characterized by a deep (re)cognition, acceptance and saying goodbye to what no longer serves you. And with that, blockages are removed and a new perspective and space for personal growth are created for you. A constellation lasts an average of 30 to 45 minutes. The total duration therefore depends on the number of people who bring in a question. During the constellation of the other persons, you can also be asked as a representative. Usually you will then get a place that is also recognizable to you and has to do with a theme of yours. I am currently in an education program at IVSW (Institute for Systemic Work) and will start with 'Trial sessions' Family constellations from April 2025. Because I am still in training, you can register yourself for this trial session as a representative or questioner for a greatly reduced rate.
